Today was to be my day to catch up on household duties....and, for the most part, I achieved my goal. I installed a new furnace filter, fixed a broken drawer slide, tested and balanced the chemicals in the hot tub, repaired a leaky seal around the tub, and, being that I was on such a roll.....decided to take down the Christmas tree earlier than I ever have before.
I got it done, but then got the sad realization that that means the holiday season is over, and that tomorrow morning, we all go back to the way things were 2 1/2 months ago, when the season was just kicking into high gear.
The multiple inches of snow and ice we received over night , while beautiful in appearance, just added punctuation to the notion that it is now time to "settle in for a long Winter's nap".
Well...I'M NOT LETTING THAT HAPPEN TO ME THIS YEAR! Somehow, I'm going to keep the spirit of the season alive, and run off the feelings of hope and renewal a New Year's is supposed to be infused with. I'm going to keep my resolutions (I haven't had a single in-between meal snack all day! But I am a bit crankier for it), and help and encourage everyone else who asks to keep theirs.
Here's to starting off 2007 right!
